Karissa is in love with paper and magazines! I think Christmas is going to be fun this year, all we need to give her is boxes with magazines in them. That way she can rip the paper off the boxes and then destroy the magazines too.

8 Months Old

Karissa was 8 months old yesterday. She still isn't officially crawling yet although she does seem to get around the house very well. I'm really not sure how big she is these days, we go to the doctor in a few weeks. She is still in her 6-12 month clothes, 9 month sleepers, size 3 diapers, and size 3-4 shoes! We had her fit at the shoe store for a pair of Robeez and yes she would need the 12-18 month ones!! I don't know where she gets her big feet from! She is becoming even more vocal and a swear that I can hear mama and dada when she is babbling. Her hair is thankfully starting to grow, and now she can wake up with bed head!! (The 1/4 inch of it) She is very opinionated and knows what she wants and when she wants it. We are starting to teach her sign language, but she hasn't picked up on it yet. She doesn't ever want to be left alone and will scream the second you leave the room and then stop and smile at you the moment you come back for her. yes we are playing a lot of peak-a-boo for her to learn that mommy is still here just not in front of her. I think that is all I have to write about for now. Hopefully I will be able to post soon that she is crawling, but maybe she'll go right to walking who knows.

First Snow

Today is the first day that the snow is actually lasting longer than an hour. I thought I would show Karissa the snow. Of course she had to put her snow suit on, she wasn't so thrilled. Buddie loves it outside and can't get enough of the snow. Karissa wasn't to interested in it. I'm sure she will be latter in the year when she can walk in it.

Christmas Card Pictures take 1

She was the happiest when she was chewing on her shoe. What kind of Christmas card is this going to make?
At least the dog looks good
This is the look she gave in most of the pictures...what are you doing mom?
She is actually smiling for this one
I tried to do pictures in front of the little trees and you can see how well that worked out.

I thought I better get a Christmas picture taken so I can order my Christmas cards soon. Well someone thought she would be a sober sally today. I couldn't get her to smile for anything. Poor Buddie was actually very cooperative today but someone else wasn't. I don't know if I will try again or use one that I got today. Maybe she'll be happier tomorrow morning.

Karissa is in love with her Buddie dog. She will turn her self all the way around just to see him. As you can tell she also likes to feed him. This was just too funny not to tape and share. I just love that laugh!

Hair Bow

So I decided, along with girls at work, that Karissa NEEDED at big flower head band. Yes she needed one because she doesn't have much hair yet. So I set out in search of the perfect flower and found this one. I think it turned out very cute although I should have made it this summer because she now has to wear a hat when we go anywhere, oh well. I could resist a few pictures, and also tried to do a Christmas picture but she was hungry by then so I will try again latter.

What is this thing on my head???
Daddy came home and said what did mommy do to the baby? She smiled and he agreed that it was very cute!

What am I supposed to do with this thing?
Daddy makes me feed myself. What a life, swinging and eating at the same time.
This is how daddy found me taking my nap. (and yes I do have him trained to take pictures for me while I'm working!)

Karissa loves to be in our big bed, she thinks she is hot stuff sitting in there all alone.

New Toy??

s
Karissa was playing with her toys the other night and I realized that she didn't want her own toys anymore. I guess she was bored with her same old toys, so she strained to reach Buddie's fetcher (that is normally outside). She sat there for over 30 min playing with it and then eventually chewing on it. I guess a pre-chewed dog toy never hurt anyone...right??
