5 Months

Today marks 5 months since Karissa was born. I'm still in shock about where the time has gone. I can't believe that she is that old already. She is a joy every day (even when she doesn't nap). She is now rolling over both directions, sitting unassisted for a few moments, standing alone while hanging onto the foot stool and lots more. She is very tall, still bald except for the red mullet, loves to smile all the time and laugh once in a while. She is wearing size 3 month clothes and size 1-2 diapers (soon to move to size 2 when the others are gone). She sleeps form about 10 pm until 8- 10 am almost every day, except for today she wanted to say by to mommy at 5 am! She is enjoying her baby cereal a few times a day and really likes fudge bars that daddy shares with her! We are totally in love with this little lady!

Messy Girl

Karissa loves her cereal as you can tell. The last few days she spits a little bit out and then rubs it all over her head. Last night it was in her ears and all through her hair. At least she likes it!

We think that kids need to learn household chores early....maybe we're starting too early!?

I LOVE my feet!!

Who needs to hold their toys with their hands when you have a bumbo??
I laid her in our bed for a minute and she was instantly sound asleep
Here are just a few pictures from the past week. Karissa is such a big girl and amazes us almost daily with what she can do. She has now decided that she is too busy to take a nice long nap during the day. Today she was so tired but wouldn't give in, there is just too much to do during the day.

Coast Guard 2008

She fell asleep in the sun so mommy covered her up!

We went out to Grand Haven Saturday for the Coast Guard festival. We spent the day in spring lake swimming (Karissa didn't go in the lake). Then we headed for the channel to watch the fire works. Karissa was very entertained by 'driving' the boat! I wasn't sure how she was going to like the fireworks but she loved them. She wasn't scared for the booms at all and just stared at them. She watched very intently the entire time, but as soon as they were done she was sound asleep.
