Pumpkin Carving

Thursday October 22, 2009
The Pumpkin before....

Trying to lift her pumpkin
Daddy showing her how to clean it out
Getting a closer look inside
Touching the 'guts'
Ewww...my hands are dirty!!
Sticking to the cleaner method...the spoon!
She finally reached in with her hands and got dirty!

The pumpkins after...
We carved two of our six pumpkins last night. Karissa thought it was pretty cool. She didn't like to touch the 'guts' with her hands so she had to use a spoon. She had lots of fun digging the stuff out and the putting it back into the pumpkin, and back and forth. We think that the pumpkins turned out really good, and Karissa really liked them glowing in the dark.

Meijer Gardens

Wednesday October 21, 2009

My friend, Ann, from work invited Karissa and I to the Meijer gardens again. This time it wasn't 100' outside so we had a lot more fun. They had these huge pumpkins that Karissa thought were cool but she wouldn't smile for any of the pictures. She had a blast playing in the Children's Garden. We had a lot of fun and hopefully will be able to go again.

Robinette's Apple Haus

What you won't do for a picture!

Daddy showing Karissa how to pick an apple

Having Fun!
Child labor...Daddy and Caleb filled her hood for strength training!
Loading up the stroller, literally!
Karissa by the big apple, no she wouldn't look at me for the picture.
Daddy, Mommy, and Karissa

Caleb, Colleen, and Karissa

Colleen and I decided to go to an orchard on Sunday. RJ and Caleb came along slightly willingly, although they both said that we could just buy some apples at Meijers next year! It was a bit chilly out but we still had a good time. We ended up waiting for about an hour for fresh doughnuts and cider (totally worth the wait!). The we watched them make fresh cider and we picked apples. I think that we came back with more and enough apples! It was a fun day and hopefully we can make it a yearly tradition!

First Haircut

Sunday October 18, 2009
The before... The after...
The little hairs...

yes I finally did it...I cut the mullet! I have talked about cutting it for a while and I actually did and I'm glad I did. Karissa was starting to look like she was growing a rat tail and that wasn't the look we were going for so off it came. She sat nice a still while eating a fruit roll-up! Hopefully the rest will grow faster now, I waiting to put in piggy tails!!

My Kids

Karissa and Buddie...what more do I have to say. They are two peas in a pod, the best of friends, where one is the other is sure to follow. Karissa loves her Buddie but she wasn't too sure that she wanted to share her bed with him!

Basket Rides

Giving her baby a basket ride too.

I think every kid loves to be pushed/pulled in the laundry basket. Karissa got the laundry basket out of my closet one day and sat in it, well Daddy pushed her around the house and from then on she loved it. Karissa now goes into the closet on a nightly basses and pulls the basket out, brings it to Daddy and says pease (please). He pushes her around the house chasing after Buddie (poor dog) and Karissa just laughs and laughs! What fun with the simplest things.
