Merry Christmas / 21 Months

Merry Christmas to everyone, yes I know I'm a day late. Karissa was a ton of fun this year. She opened her presents from Daddy and Mommy on Thursday morning. RJ put them under the tree while she ate breakfast and as soon as she was out of her chair she was opening them! She ripped right in, there was no paper sparing, although all the paper had to come off! Her favorites form us are her mega blocks table and her play tent, house as she calls it. Christmas eve we were off to Grandpa Bob's house were we had dinner and then opened presents. She was surveying the tree the entire time trying to get at all the gifts. She ripped open her presents there too. She loves her play kitchen, slippers, jammies, and blocks. The kitchen is totally awesome and way better than anything that I ever had as a kid. So we had a really good day and daddy had a good day with her yesterday as I was at work.

Karissa is now 21 months old! I can't believe were the time has gone. She is such a big kid now. She is repeating everything that we say and remembering what things are. She talks non stop, although most people don't believe me because she doesn't talk nearly as much when we are not at home and around other people. She is currently learning to go on the potty and has many days that she stays dry all day. She hasn't mastered or attempted to do her pewing on the potty but I'm sure that will come with time. She still wears 24 months- 2t clothes, size 7 shoes, and size 4 diapers. She still takes an afternoon nap for about 2 hours most days. She goes to bed around 9:30 pm and wakes up around 9 am. She is an absolute joy every day and it is so much fun to watch her discover and learn new things.

News...

Well as most of you already know Karissa is going to be a big sister in April! We just found out Friday that we are having another girl! We are very excited to know what she is and that everything is in the right spot and looks good. Karissa doesn't understand that we are having a baby but she loves playing with her baby dolls so I think that she will adjust just fine to a new baby in the house. She is always very concerned about babies that we see that may be crying so I think that she will be a good little mommy. The next few months are going to go to fast seeing we have lots to do. We can't wait to meet our new little girl and see if she looks like Karissa or if she is totally different (RJ is hoping for a blond!). I just thought I would finally make the blog official and break the news.

Oh Christmas Tree....

Starting the search

Auntie Robin's tree
My Tree...the before
Grandpa Bob's tree
Still searching for Auntie Michelle
All tuckered out after a big day of tree shopping Where's Karissa in the trailer full of trees??

The happy family
Looking through all the ornaments
hanging my snowman on the tree
Karissa and Buddie showing off the tree

The finished product
Being nice to the tree
We got our Christmas tree today!! A day that I have been looking forward to for weeks now! This is the first year that we actually cut our own trees down instead of buying one of the pre-cut trees. This was way more fun, Karissa had so much fun that she slept for about 2.5 hours afterwards! Grandpa Bob, Auntie Robin, Auntie Michelle, Alexis, Brittany, Kacey, and Daddy all went along. We had a trailer full of trees by the time we were done. Ours like normal is too big for the house but we are loving it anyways! Grandpa Bob's is just a short one measuring in at 15 feet tall!! The tree is decorated, and we are now ready for Christmas at the Lintjer's!!

Pumpkin Carving

Thursday October 22, 2009
The Pumpkin before....

Trying to lift her pumpkin
Daddy showing her how to clean it out
Getting a closer look inside
Touching the 'guts'
Ewww...my hands are dirty!!
Sticking to the cleaner method...the spoon!
She finally reached in with her hands and got dirty!

The pumpkins after...
We carved two of our six pumpkins last night. Karissa thought it was pretty cool. She didn't like to touch the 'guts' with her hands so she had to use a spoon. She had lots of fun digging the stuff out and the putting it back into the pumpkin, and back and forth. We think that the pumpkins turned out really good, and Karissa really liked them glowing in the dark.

Meijer Gardens

Wednesday October 21, 2009

My friend, Ann, from work invited Karissa and I to the Meijer gardens again. This time it wasn't 100' outside so we had a lot more fun. They had these huge pumpkins that Karissa thought were cool but she wouldn't smile for any of the pictures. She had a blast playing in the Children's Garden. We had a lot of fun and hopefully will be able to go again.
