Today day was the day for the gall bladder to go!! We were up early seeing the nerves were running wild. We left the house at 8:15 am to arrive at the hospital at 9am. We got checked in very quickly and then the waiting game began. 10:30 came and went and no surgeon yet. Finally after what seemed like forever to me everyone came and swept my RJ away. It took about 1 hour and 15 min before we were called to talk to the surgeon. He said everything went fine, the gall bladder didn't look that abnormal, but we all knew it wasn't functioning. He gave me cool pictures to show RJ. Back to the waiting room we go for another hour before going back to see RJ. He was sleeping hard and would hardly open his eyes. It took him a long time to wake up and when he did he was very dizzy so some more meds to take care of that and back to sleep he went. I just sat and stared at him wishing he would wake up so that I would know that he was okay. He did manage to wake enough to eat a few crackers and then finally sat up in the chair. After being in the chair for a while he felt good enough to get up to the bathroom, the final thing he had to do before being able to go home. he walked very well there and back so I helped dress him and home we went. he is now safely tucked into bed with Buddie laying near. Karissa and I will be soon following. It has been a very emotionally exhausting day. I work everyday in a hospital but it's totally different when it's the one you love so very much being the patient. Thank you all for you concern for RJ, it's very greatly appreciated. I will keep everyone updated on how he is doing.
